Garden-style flowers and event design
What inspired you to start your business?
Our story begins with my great-grandmother. Many years ago, when she left Bari, Italy for America she brought with her an old-world knowledge of horticulture. Despite the language barrier, her young granddaughter, Mary, soaked up her lessons in the garden. Like her grandmother before her, my mom taught me about flower species, soil and climate, fruits, vegetables and herbs carrying on a deep-rooted relationship with nature to the next generation. Every time I eat a peach, I carefully examine the pit and recall my mom’s story of growing a peach tree with her grandmother. I’m proud to be continuing the tradition by schooling my daughter in the very same way. She’s alongside us for flower market trips, arranging, and learning to grow flowers while she grows. Drawing inspiration from nature and our clients is the essence of our creative process. We see our work as pure interpretation of nature, our goal is to portray it in its most authentic form.
What makes your house a home?
The people who live in it of course! We love Scandinavian style with simple. comfortable furnishings and lots of crisp whites and wood. The heart and soul is family heirloom accents like dishes, barware and paintings that add vintage charm and hold sentimental value. Driftwood, shells and seaglass displayed on windowsills and shells from Long Island beach walks and travels.
What's one thing you love to do that you get to do almost every day?
Hands down, using our creativity! After years in the medical and financial industries, we're elated to be floral designers. We love experimenting with an ever-changing variety of colors, textures and materials that change with the seasons. Mother nature is our manager.
What simple pleasures do you like to enjoy?
Gardening, time spent on the beach.
Name one thing on your "bucket list."
Spend a summer traveling across the United States
