Handmade furniture and functional objects which juxtapose old and new.
What inspired you to start your business?
I believe that our surroundings at home can have a profound effect on our state of mind. I have always been drawn to furniture and functional objects, and I have always been a maker. Once I began to learn woodworking skills, it was clear to me that I wanted to craft the objects that people would interact with everyday in their personal space.
What makes your house a home?
We have special objects in every room of our house, whether it is a piece of art made from a friend, or an object I found on a trip. Displaying these things connects me to all the people I love. And plants! We have plants everywhere in our house.
What's one thing you love to do that you get to do almost every day?
I’m learning how to play the guitar so I enjoy sitting down to play and sing a few songs most days.
What simple pleasures do you like to enjoy?
Hiking. My husband and I frequently go to Caumsett, but we also enjoy walking all around Northport.
Name one thing on your "bucket list."
I would love to travel to India and experience the beautiful colors, patterns, culture and food.
Why did you choose to be part of Nest on Main?
I flew into the Nest quite organically, by chance. Now that I am officially a “Nester,” I love the idea of being a part of something right inside my own community. Mixing with all the other beautiful work inside Nest inspires me to create new work.
